   The reasonable behaviour is to ignore patents unless they are being
actively enforced. There are such enforced patents in ffmpeg and I did
not yet check all codecs and file formats.

   If your upstream needs ffmpeg for MP3 encoding, for instance, be
warned that it will not be available.

   You could do that in the meantime. I should have time this weekend to
upload ffmpeg packages into experimental.
