* Package name     : lmodern-x11
  Version : 0.86-8
Upstream Authors : B. Jackowski and J. M. Nowacki from GUST

Description : X11 support for the Latin Modern fonts

The Latin Modern fonts, also known as "lm fonts", are a set of
scalable fonts in PostScript Type 1 format. They are based on the
PostScript Type 1 version of the Computer Modern fonts and contain
many additional characters (mostly accented ones).

This package does not contain any font itself but performs the
necessary steps to make the Latin Modern fonts available to the
X Window System. This makes it possible to use them as screen fonts.

I am splitting the package for what I suppose is the reason why
gsfonts-x11 is separate from gsfonts, i.e., to avoid the dependency on
xutils for the people who don't want to use the font with X (and
presumably don't have X installed).

Actually, lmodern-x11 (from the lmodern 0.86-8 source package) was
uploaded on February 8. On February 19, I received a REJECTion notice
for 0.86-8 and a mail from James Troup where he asked me why I had split
this lmodern-x11 package from the rest of lmodern (which was explained
in the changelog and in this ITP, but well). I answered immediately and
suggested two alternatives, but received no reply thereafter.

As a consequence, I merged lmodern-x11 with lmodern and the result (in
lmodern 0.86-9) hit the archive today, i.e. on March 8, 2004.
