What oversight? I hope you mean the fact that you did not ask back
whether Raphael was still inclined to package attal; not that you
accidently didn't know about his activity.
It is not required to use the ITP bug report as a blog for all the
different stuff you do for the package, but I really believe it is good
mannors to at least pretend to try to contact the (seemingly inactive)
ITPer.
