Sure, no doubt about that. Although I would like to add that arch would be 
even better than CVS...

It's no problem to have a debian directory. The only thing is that it would be 
cleaner to separate the sources from the bits used to package the project for 
Debian, and someone using the sources should not have to care about packaging 
details for one specific distribution. However, I don't plan to immediately 
remove debian from the CVS, so don't worry.
