Bug#224099: Packaging of snownews for Debian
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello Oliver,
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that I will be packaging
your snownews app (which I like very much!) for the Debian distribution.
In case you haven't heard of it, Debian is a non-profit volunteer-based
Linux distribution which has a very large audience. One of the main
benefits of Debian is our packaging system and dependency resolving
mechanism -- apt (which has been ported to rpm now). Debian is also
used as a base for other, more specialized, distributions -- including
LibraNet and Knoppix. For more information see <http://www.debian.org/>.
I currently have packages built for version 1.4.2, and am now testing
them before I upload to the main distribution. I have made a few
modifications to your defaults (eg. turning on color by default, and a
few others). If you would like to examine the packages, they are
available on the mentors.debian.net website; or via apt using the
following source lines:
deb http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
Thanks again for the great program!
Joe Nahmias

PS - If you are interested, I have a few patches that I could send
upstream to you including a typo fix in the german manpage, as well as a
manpage for opml2snow. Let me know...
