I picked it up from the 2.4.19 version, fixed the tools to compile with
gcc-3.2 and plan to package it with the following description:

Package: scsi-idle
Description: turn off SCSI disks when idle
 This package contains small programs to start and stop SCSI disks and a
 daemon that spins down drives when idle. Optional kernel patch which
 spins up SCSI-disks when they are accessed is provided by the
 kernel-patch-scsi-idle package.

Package: kernel-patch-scsi-idle
Description: Kernel patch to spin up SCSI drives on access
 The scsi-idle patch is needed to spin up SCSI drives from idle mode
 when accessed. The programs to spin down the disks are provided by the
 scsi-idle package.
