It is worse because a lot more code changes. I am sure that you have
enough packaging (and Debian user) experience to recognize that. I am
willing to assume that enough testing of Debian's package revision 2
(relative to revision 1) went on that my machine won't die. I am not
willing to make the same assumption regarding Linux 2.4.23 relative to
Linux 2.4.22, whether they are from a Debian package or from upstream.
