Bug#197578: RFA: gnomesu -- Allow users to run commands as root, after prompting for password

Package: wnpp
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-06-16
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the gnomesu package.
I'm not really sure whether this package just needs a new maintainer or
it should just be dropped from Debian; it is almost completely
unmaintained upstream, and there is a better competing package in Debian
(gksu) which is more featureful, maintained, and doesn't depend on all
of GNOME (which is completely useless in a program like this)
The package description is:
GNOME SuperUser (formerly Xsu) is an interface for the command
`su - username -c command` in GNOME. When the user executes gnomesu, he/she
will be prompted for a command, a username and a password. If the username
and password are correct gnomesu will execute the command as the entered user.
This can be very useful when using gnomesu in for example gmenu or the GNOME
 panel.
