Bug#196153: RFA: floatbg -- slowly modify the color of the X root window
Package: wnpp
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-06-04
Severity: normal
I request an adopter for the floatbg package.
The package description is:
Subtly changes the color of the root window over time, so slowly
that it won't be noticed. This is a good alternative to placing a
picture in the root window.
There is a bug in BTS about floatbg not minding multiple instances
running on the same display, together with a patch to fix this that I
have not applied because I don't understand it well enough. The major
problem by far though is that floatbg doesn't work well in this age of
GNOME/KDE ubiquitousness. Unfortunately I don't know enough about
GNOME/KDE to begin to fix this. This is a nice little program much
deserving of better maintenance.
