Bug#193320: RFA: gtimer -- GTK-based X11 task timer

Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2003-05-14
Severity: normal

Due to lack of interest in the gtimer package, I am requesting an
adopter. The application is fairly useful, but could use some
improvements, the biggest one being a preference dialog box to set up a
preferred HTML browser instead of netscape or mozilla. I don't forsee
this enhancement being on the top of my list of things to do.

The upstream author has expressed that he intends to update the software
periodically from code contributions via patches. I've forwarded most
of our patches, as hackish or ugly as they might be, and most of the
problem reports to him. He has largely ignored these patches in the
past and has not given me much feedback until recently. He may have
decided to give more attention to the project, so give him the benefit
of the doubt.

A new version was released in March that fixed a few things. I've used
the opportunity to rewrite the package using the DBS and separated out
the individual patches. This software is pretty much in a maintenance
mode. I don't expect to see many upstream changes, but you may be
surprised.

So, if you use this package or are interested in improving it, go ahead
and adopt. If not, I'm satisfied with maintaining it for the time
being. Who knows. Maybe I'll get an itch to improve this thing one day
in the distant future.

The package description is:
Program to track how your time is spent. This useful piece of
software allows multiple clocks to run simultaneously, allows for
text annotations, and provides useful and portable reports (HTML and
 TXT formats.)
