Hi... I have already contacted Gabriel Montenegro (the upstream author of ethstatus). He is not interested in adding new features or removing bugs. However the source code doesn't look too hard to maintain. So if nobody objects I will debianize the software and fix minor bugs. If there is maybe a volunteer sponsor I would be glad.
