  Description : Command-line tools for building local-domain client-server applications

ucspi-ipc implements D. J. Bernstein's UCSPI protocol in the Unix
domain, making it trivial to set up clients or servers on Unix
sockets. ucspi- ipc comes with utilities using credential passing on
Unix sockets, which are designed to act like a fine-grained and
efficient sudo without the need for setuid programs.

Having looked into the licensing of this software I have come to the
conclusion that it cannot go into Debian as a binary package. It
appears to include/re-use code from D. J. Bernstein's ucspi
software. None of that software permits distribution in binary form
which almost certainly prevents ucspi-ipc being distributed as such. I
do not have the knowledge or time to develop a package to distribute
the source code and then build the package on demand for the user.

The compilation/make system is also very screwy which has caused me no
end of headaches and I confess that I've not been able to turn this
into a satisfactory Debian package. A lot of work is also required to
get the documentation into man page form for each executable to make
it compliant with Debian policy.

With all these factors in mind I am closing this intent to package.

Stephen Quinney
