A lots of laptops has broken DSDTs. So many of us need to hack
the code to load a local table instead of the bios one. 
Currently on my Compaq Presario current patch would be unuseful...

Maybe you need some deep hack in acpi code to apply.
The best thing to do is a config option to enable/disable a local table
during make *config.
