Are you aware of Dime, another C++ library doing the same thing?
<URL:http://www.coin3d.org/Dime/>. From the web page:

Dime is a C++ class library for reading, constructing, manipulating,
and writing DXF file data. The name is an acronym for DXF Import,
Manipulation, and Export library. Dime is known to compile on Win32,
Linux, IRIX, HP-UX, Solaris, BeOS and MacOS. Dime is released
publicly under the GNU General Public License.
