I think it's pointful to have it in Debian now, so that people can easily
send feeback through the BTS (i have ported it to GNU/Hurd, for example)

I'm afraid i have no idea of the issue, but i noticed this warning:

sysintf.o: In function `Get_temp':
sysintf.o(.text+0x5fc): the use of `tempnam' is dangerous, better use `mkstemp'

maybe mkstemp does such security checks already?
