I request an adopter for the libtar package, the upstream code is stable,
however there are difficulties in that upstream doesnt build a shared
library so i additionally use automake and libtool, i need to fix up
dependencies for automake1.6.

There is an example of its usage included in the package however its not
compiling becasue of some changes ive made somewhere.

Its listed as the 4 clause BSD license, however the upstream author has
stated that the advertising clause isnt required which makes it GPL
compatable.

The package description is:
libtar allows programs to create, extract and test tar archives.
It supports both the strict POSIX tar format and many of the
commonly-used
 GNU extensions.
