Description : Data binding framework for Java

Castor is an open source data binding framework for Java[tm]. It's
basically the shortest path between Java objects, XML documents, SQL
tables and LDAP directories. Castor provides Java to XML binding, Java
to SQL/LDAP persistence, and then some more.

Castor also offers a transaction mechanism.

I've been using it, and it's quite nice. instead of accessing SQL
tables, you just describe the mapping from your objects into SQL (or
XML), and Castor makes them persistent for you.
