Bug#149383: RFP: squeak -- wide spectrum personal computing authoring environment

Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2002-06-08
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : squeak
  Version         : 3.2
  Upstream Author :  <squeak-dev@lists.squeakfoundation.org>
* URL             : http://www.squeak.org/
* License : Squeak license (see below)
  Description : wide spectrum personal computing authoring environment

Longer description:

Squeak is a new wide spectrum personal computing authoring environment for many kinds of users: from children around age 6, to teenagers, to parents and teachers, to media artists, to expert computer scientists. The authoring is done by direct manipulation and through scripting. There is one basic scripting language for all users, and three different authoring environments: children, omniusers, and experts.
Squeak can run with or without local operating systems, as a plugin or standalone, as a client or server on more than 20 platforms "bit-identically." It is small enough to fit on PDAs, and fast enough to do a wide range of applications. See http://squeak.org for the expert site and http://www.squeakland.org to see the site for children, parents and teachers.

Might be a good target for Debian-Junior.
