Firebird is a variant of InterBase 6 open-source database from Borland.
AFAIK, because Borland does not allow modified versions of InterBase to
be named InterBase, it has new name Firebird.
There seems no ITP for Firebird yet so I write a RFP now. See
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/firebird> for the description and the
license. I believe it is as free as the original InterBase 6 is.

You could as well do it yourself, but if you don't want - I'll do it for
you ;-)
For those looking at this bug - firebird has been already uploaded to
unstable distro. Unfortunatelly it didn't make it into Woody (thanks go=20
to ftpmasters for keeping it for months in queue/new).
