Bug#126386: current status
Hi,
I ITP'd this package some time ago (almost 3 month actually) but I had
no time to work on it.
I contacted the two upstream authors: they'd be very glad if this
package is done.
I studied the program and the libs it used. To make a long story short:
- arkane should depends on libgl4java (the package HAS TO BE DONE), an
OpenGL lib for Java.
I contacted the upstream author of this software 3 times but nobody
answered. However, it is under GPL. The adress is :

- arkane is made of data and main code but it appears that these two
parts cannot be clearly separated, according to the authors. As a
consequence, there is no need for both arkane and arkane-data packages:
the arkane package should contain both.
- arkane is free but it depends on java >= 1.3. As a consequence, it
should go into contrib.
I can't tell when I'll have time to deal with these packages (arkane and
gl4java) this I'm finishing my PhD. As a consequence, if someone
desperately wants this package, he/she can take it. Otherwise, I'll do
it this summer (hopefully).
