Bug#147006: ITP: freebsd -- Packaged FreeBSD kernel, libc an

There is no port of glibc, no. glibc had support for BSD 4.3, but apparently hasn't been used or maintained since glibc1. All three BSD ports are based on native libc's, not glibc.

It causes inconveniences from time to time, but porting glibc appears to be more work than adapting Debian to live without it. This hasn't been as hard as you might think. Most Debian packages already run on the BSD's, anyway, so the major headaches tend to come from very Linux or Debian specific packages.

If you or anyone else wants to port glibc, I'll be happy to use it when you get it working. ;-)
