Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The current maintainer of oo-browser, Raphael Bossek <bossekr@debian.org>,
is apparently not active anymore[*]. Therefore, I orphan this package
now. If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- retitle
this bug from 'O:' to 'ITA:', fix the outstanding bugs and upload a
new version with your name in the Maintainer: field and a

   * New maintainer (Closes: #thisbug)

in the changelog so this bug is closed.

Description: Object Oriented (X)Emacs Class Browser
 The oo-browser is a multi-windowed, interactive object-oriented class
 browser similar in use to the well-known Smalltalk browsers. It is unique
 in a number of respects foremost of which is that it works well with a
 multiplicity of object-oriented languages. It provides both textual views
 within an editor and graphical views under the X window system and Windows.
 oo-browser provides support for Java, C++/C, Object-C, Python, Smalltalk,
 Eiffel and last but not least Lisp.
 .
 More information can be found at the oo-browser web site
 http://www.beopen.com/products/oo-browser.html .

[*] Justification: the maintainer currently has 17 open RC bugs (not
counting those fixed in NMUs). Several NMUs were done, at least two
packages (pwlib, usbview) have already been hihacked, the maintainer
does not respond to mails.

 .
   * yes, new maintainer (I forgot to change Maintainer: last time)
     again Closes: #123502, #65950, #93440, #83789, #122970, #82684
   * fixed background environment-build problem (there were mistakes in
     the Make-Env makefile).
     Closes: #56560: cannot build environment in background
   * oo-browser Depends: make
   * changed to use autoload correctly, so it only loads when wanted
   * sped up installation by borrowing ideas from other emacs packages
   * wrote real man pages for xoobr(1) and ootags(1), replacing the
     undocumented(7) ones.
   * corrected the location of beopen-banner.xpm in hypb/hypb.el;
     I had missed that one in the 4.07-9 changes.
   * removed lots of BeOpen.Com self-promotional stuff from the packaged
     documentation, because their hosts are no longer accessible; updated
     where appropriate to refer to the current upstream source site instead.
   * removed the "Get-Support-via-Email" and "Mail-List-Request" menu
     items, for the same reason.
