Bug#118101: ITP: frox -- caching ftp proxy

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

The homepage of frox is http://frox.sourceforge.net/

It is a transparent ftp proxy which is released under the GPL. Current
version is 0.6.6 but it is usable. It also has some support for caching
through an external cache (eg. squid), or for maintaining a cache
locally.

frox is being actively worked on upstream.

The package ftp-proxy is the only other packaged proxy im aware of that
understands the ftp protocol (maybe apt-proxy does as well?)...
ftp-proxy has a number of old problems and it doesnt look like its being
worked on upstream.

I think having a good ftp proxy is important for debian to leaverage the
value of existing ftp proxgrams, including apt-get.
