I plan on adopting the ill maintained screen package. It currently has
~50 open bugs, many of which are fixed by the new upstream version
(3.9.8) which has been out since September of 2000.

I emailed the maintainer about adopting the package on Feb 21st and have
not received a reply.

I am currently not a Debian developer, but Eric Gillespie, Jr.
<epg@debian.org> has agreed to advocate and sponsor me.

I have preliminary packages rolled, and anticipate having a finished
updated version of 3.9.8 this weekend.
