I would like to adopt the package lib-gnu.getopt-java. Either I'm reading something wrong, or the application process is circular. In order to become a New Maintainer, I have to adopt a package, but isn't it necessary to be a maintainer before adopting a package? In any event, I am interested in working with the Debian project.
