Where can one find the list of packages volatile supports ?
aptitude search ~Ovolatile.debian.net
Strictly speaking the . characters should be escaped with a backslash
since the search term is a regular expression.
If you run 'apt-cache policy' you can see the list of all your apt
sources along with a list of terms that you can use to search with. For
example, my entry for volatile is:
510 http://ftp.nl.debian.org sarge/volatile/main Packages
release o=volatile.debian.net,a=stable,l=debian-volatile,c=main
origin ftp.nl.debian.org
Note that aptitude's idea of 'origin' corresponds to the
'o=volatile.debian.net' string after 'release', *not* the string after
'origin'. Yes, this is confusing. :)
For more information about Aptitude search terms, install an
aptitude-doc package and consult e.g.,
/usr/share/doc/aptitude/html/en/ch02s03.html.
