Hello,
for the past couple of days I have been experiencing an issue with audio volume control on my Debian system.
When media is playing (for example a YouTube video in Firefox), the volume control sometimes freezes and does not respond. As soon as I pause the video, the volume control immediately starts working again.
This behavior is consistent:
media playing → volume control frozen
media paused → volume control works normally
I am not sure whether this is a known bug or a configuration issue.
System details:
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 13
Kernel: 6.18.3+deb14-amd64
Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6.5.4
KDE Frameworks: 6.20.0
Qt: 6.9.2
Graphics Platform: Wayland
GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics
Browser: Firefox
Audio system: PipeWire (PulseAudio compatibility)
Hardware:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7535U
RAM: 16 GiB
Laptop: ASUS Zenbook 15 UM3504DA
Has anyone experienced similar behavior or can suggest what to check next?
Thank you,
Harun
