Hi there, May I ask which model of Sony headphones? I use Sony in my production studio, so it might help.If I follow, they work fine on your device, portable? running mx Linux. Runs wonderfully on your other Debian device as well. Your computer, when you turn it off, and on in the morning, there is a need to unplug and reconnect..is that all correct?
YOu have not changed Debian distributions on your computer lately? A different kind of test, if you are willing.Next time you turn off your system, after you turn it back on, wait say five minutes before attaching the headphones at all.
Oh, these are 3.5 connector headphones, or are they USB?I am wondering, since reconnecting them puts things back to normal, if the problem may be tied to how long it takes for all the internal moving parts to load and configure...which given that hardware might take a bit. Especially if anything about your os, tied to sound, has changed.
Does that make sense?Adding the list back, folks here know more about how hardware interacts in Debian then myself smiles.

Dear Kare I'm using my new Sony headphones. For example, they work flawlessly on a device running MX Linux. They also work perfectly fine on my Debian-based device. However, when I shut down the system and turn it back on the next day, the headphones don't provide the same sound quality. I have to unplug and replug them to get it to work again. My computer model is:Acer Swift Go 14 SFG14-63 Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, 16GB, 1TB SSD, 13 Ara 2025 Cmt 00:05 tarihinde Karen Lewellen <klewellen@shellworld.net> şunu yazdı:Hi there, Can absolutely respect your frustration here. May I ask a couple of troubleshooting questions? First, if you remember, can you share the make / model? Do they have their own volume control? Is it possible, since they are wired, for you to test them in another item with a headphone jack? stereo system, walk-person, cd player that sort of thing? If so, can you listen for at least 2-5 minutes for the sound quality? There are likely many solutions that do not involve your changing operating systems. in joy, Kare On Fri, 12 Dec 2025, 脋Ga膥_da舿_ G枚kbel wrote:The sound is getting quieter.
