Good point, but RFC 952 describes a different network than what we have today... natwork classes, names registered with NIC. Also, the format is actually different.

Which doesn't matter, because it predates even the terminology specification in RFC 2119, so we can understand any term to mean what we like :-)

That said -- this discussion is most likely not leading anywhere, and most particularly not where Loic wants it, I think.
