Rather than fiddle with different kernels, let's solve the DVI monitor
problem.

You didn't say what you are using as a desktop/window manager, nor what
video card you are using.

With Linux 6.12.57+deb13-amd64, find your monitors/display
application. In XFCE, get the applications menu -> Settings -> Display.
Use that to set things up as you wish. Save if necessary. Reboot to
test.

If that doesn't work, install arandr. Use it to get the setup you want.
Then save it. arandr will save a script, which you can then have your
session controller call on startup. In XFCE, applications menu ->
Settings -> Session and Startup -> Application Autostart. Add the
script that arandr saved. Reboot to see if that worked.

If those don't work, I would suspect your video card or monitor, in
that order.
