Ther installation comes from the Debian installer:

https://wiki.debian.org/Firmware says

  Since Debian 12, the installer will automatically check for needed
  firmware blobs and add them as required.

However, I'm still wondering:

But is it really necessary that such firmware be present in the initrd?
