It's most likely being triggered by a systemd timer.  According to the
file list at <https://packages.debian.org/trixie/amd64/mdadm/filelist>
there are several *.timer files in the Trixie package.  One of them is
probably what triggered the check.

If the checking is already working, I wouldn't.
