Hi,

For many years I've removed GVFS from my LXDE (ie not running Gnome)
systems. That became my habit because it seemed to be holding files open,
which prevents unmounting things.

The only thing that I have noticed is that doing that seems to break the
builtin Help in most Gnome programs. I think that internally they use some
Gnome "URL-like" scheme (it looks like ghelp:somedirectory/helpfile) and
I suspect that the "ghelp" part of that relies on GVFS.
