Why are these old versions in Trixie?

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to ask something.

I'm a bit confused because I'm not sure why some of the packages aren't in the latest version in Trixie.

 

The following packages are all released before softfreeze 

12.03.25 smartmontools 7.5

15.08.24 cupsfilter 2.0.1

08.04.25 cups 2.4.12

 

I thought the process would be something like: new version is downloaded, then compiled and a deb package is created (and some tests are run).

The current version in trixie of CUPS filters is from January 2023. I don't understand why this is happening.
Can someone please explain why this is happening?
