IIRC this is also known as "macmini3,1". I don't have this specific
machine, but I have an older one (macmini1,1, upgraded to macmini2,1).

My macmini had a 32bit-only CPU (Core Duo) but I upgraded its CPU to
a Core 2 Duo (as well as upgraded its firmware to allow the use of the
"full" 3GB of RAM that the hardware can control).
The macmini2,1 has a 32bit EFI but you can boot a 64bit version of
GNU/Linux, AFAIK (tho I used Debian i386 on it).
According to https://theapplewiki.com/wiki/List_of_Mac_minis,
a macmini3,1 can run macOS > 10.8 so its EFI should be 64 bit and Apple
used it in "64bit only". It should work fine with both Debian i386
and Debian amd64.
