I am using Debian Bookworm latest updates with a HP desktop. The
computer works fine now and that is thanks to you guys who helped me get
it that way. I thank you all for you assistance.
I am glad you were able to get the PIA VPN installed. :-)
I have had this printer for about 7 or 98 months and have had no problem
with it. Four days ago it printed everything through wifi just
perfect. It stopped printing from wifi but it will print its connection
stuff straight from the machine. So I went to HP and they said it
needed a new update. I downloaded the file and it was a .run file. When
I ran it it said something was missing but did not say what. I went
back to HP and the pages I had used could not be found and right after I
downloaded the file from them the chat disappeared and no one answers
their phone number.
Yes, it is out of warranty. Today I found that source forge had the
file I needed so I download it (tar.gz) and proceeded to unpack it. It
has not changed the computer at all. It still will not print via wifi.
I made sure it was connected twice and it is connected.
I have no idea what to do. I spent two hours on HP looking for any
explanation and could not get any help from them at all. I cannot
afford another printer and I have three un-used color cartridges. It
does say it is low on ink but according to the one person I talked to 2
days ago said that that would not stop it from printing.
Any help would be appreciated as I am almost at the point of taking a
hammer to it.
Thanks, Moe
Did you make any changes to the printer, to your computer, or to your
network immediately prior to the when the printer stopped working? If
so, which devices and what changes?
Are other Wi-Fi devices working okay?
STFW "Laser Jet Pro 4301 8023 CB", the closest I could find is:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-4301-4303dw-fdn-fdw-printer-series/38348016
Is this your printer? If not, please find the correct hp.com support
page and post the URL.
What files have you downloaded (e.g. file names) and from where (e.g. URL)?
