Right, I would definitely not try to edit the dconf/user file. Options
for making changes are
- MATE Control Center (top-level GUI for MATE configuration)
- dconf-editor (GUI; not as user-friendly as Control Center, but gives
you direct access to all the settings)
- dconf (command-line)
