Try to install newer kernel from bookworm-backports

apt update
apt install linux-image-amd64/bookworm-backports

I do not use synaptic, so I can not tell you what button acts like "apt 
update". Backports packages have lower priority by default, so the 
repository should be explicitly specified.

You may compare boot logs:

   journalctl -b -1

or another number.
