I enjoyed using Konversation from the KDE Project. I think it's prettygood! irssi is quite nice too if you don't mind using the terminal. Ithought the quickstart guide was excellent https://irssi.org/New-users/.

Well, it seems that hexchat is being discontinued.
IMHO, it is/was the only IRC client that was actually usable.

Any recommendations for a GOOD alternative?
