Yes, this.

In fact, you might consider installing a Server edition of the OS, and
then adding a Desktop package.

There's not much difference between Desktop and Server editions.
Servers include things like a web server and ssh server, but lack an
integrated desktop. It's a lot easier to remove web servers and ssh
servers.
