What is z3fold and do I need it? (error: /usr/sbin/mkinitramfs: 12: /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/local.conf: z3fold: not found)
Hi,
$ uname -a
Linux e130 4.19.0-17-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.194-3 (2021-07-18) x86_64
GNU/Linux
$ free -m
total used free shared buff/cache
available
Mem: 1771 1121 117 280 532
159
Swap: 8278
$ cat debian_version
10.2
One of my memory slots has died and I can only use one mem stick, that
is 2 GB in total.
I was following this guide:
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/speed-mint.html#ID1.2
So I added:
# cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/local.conf
# List of modules that you want to include in your initramfs.
# They will be loaded at boot time in the order below.
#
# Syntax: module_name [args ...]
#
# You must run update-initramfs(8) to effect this change.
#
# Examples:
#
# raid1
# sd_mod
z3fold
lz4
Then:
# update-initramfs -u
And I get error:
/usr/sbin/mkinitramfs: 12: /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/local.conf:
z3fold: not found
Where do I find z3fold and do I need it?
Thanks
