Note however, that it could be slow compared to say, an SSD. I did this with buster and had Emby server running also. Between the two, I got lag most times. I'd suggest an SSD if you have one. Or, perhaps a recommended USB stick. Perhaps someone here has suggestions for such stick that maintains r/w over a while and is fast. Goodluck!
