If so, you have it working using the Optimus packages?
debian-live-11.1.0-amd64-xfce+nonfree.iso appears to have installed
nouveau OOTB:

I'll pass that info back when I receive confirmation - that may well
explain why the person in debian-laptop is having lockups.
