Removing messed up folder

Hi all,

Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
Qt Version: 5.11.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Kernel Version: 4.19.0-16-amd64
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × AMD FX(tm)-4350 Quad-Core Processor
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM

Somehow, I've managed to really mess up the owner and access to a folder. I have tried chmod and chown to correct the problem. Both produced 'access denied' results. The same  goes for "rm -rf' .

The folder looks like this:

d????????? ? ?    ?      ?            ? doc

There is a sub-folder in doc that I can view using Dolphin. But of course, with the new security restrictions, I can't do anything with it. The sub folder is set to dr-x-------- with owner gary. Does anyone know how to remove these folders?

Gary R
