Had contacted Prof. Liu, the maintainer of xautolock. He informed:

I created a folder and in it the ssvr script and another, activate.sh.
Within the latter, the line: ./ssvr.sh ssvr.sh
Program running, but screensaving not initiated after inactivity.
Codeline:
