That sounds like a reasonable solution -- tried it. Nice -- it answers to either weather and weather-util. My ZIP is 30303 (Boulder, CO):

"ghe@sbox:~$ weather --info 30303
Searching via ZCTA...
Census ZCTA (ZIP code) 30303
----------------------------
katl: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, GA, United States
   (proximity good, 12.2km, 7.56mi)
gaz045: DeKalb, GA
   (proximity good, 15.3km, 9.49mi)"

I tried a couple other Boulder ZIP codes, and they didn't exist.

With Boulder CO or just Boulder:

"ghe@sbox:~$ weather --info boulder
Searching via name...
Your search is too ambiguous, returning 22 matches.:

fips worked, though:

"ghe@sbox:~$ weather --info fips08013
Searching via FIPS...
Census Place fips08013, Boulder County, CO
------------------------------------------
kbdu: Boulder Muni, Co, US
   (proximity good, 16km, 9.94mi)
coz039: Boulder And Jefferson Counties Below 6000 Feet/West Broomfield County, CO
   (proximity suspect, 25.4km, 15.8mi)"

Thanks, Cindy. It looks like it's getting data from the Boulder airport -- its data feels a lot more like what I see out my window.

It's not a GUI widget, but it acts a lot better than the broken one from Norway. Couple shell aliases might be in order, I think...
