how to rescue lxc?

Hi folks,

according to https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/lxc lxc is in bad shape.
I would love to help. How can I help?

I already filed a patch for #966998, verified lxc 4.0.4 (#969229)
and (meaning no offense, but) #961584 looks like a home-made problem
to me. Anyway, lxc 4.0.4 is supposed to fix this problem as well, see
https://github.com/lxc/lxc/issues/3471.

Debian is already tier-2 for container-based virtualization. It would
be very nice if lxc could be rescued.
