ISTR Perl had a bout of onelineritis back in its youth. This tends to be somewhat detrimental to a language, because people tend to believe this is the way you program. Of course, hacking oneliners (with some measure) can be fun and help in the language's mastery, but really doing serious work in this way would be akin to writing a book on differential equations in kōan form.
