There's good news for you. You can help others help you making things
better.
You don't need to be a Debian packager. Get involved. Test things. Say
"thank you" sometimes. Field questions here.
Luckily, Debian isn't Apple or Microsoft, where shareholders and other
insiders decide what you, the product, have to consume.
I've an idea for you: pick your favorite package (tough, I know. Don't
worry to just make a "gut decision", just Do It), and send a "thank
you" to its packagers.

(Yah. Don't take me too seriously. But sometimes I'm so furious that
this *whatever* is taking over this and that and that I've to hack
my way out of it to work as I want to, that I forget that others
have no choice at all and I do have one thanks to a lot of people's
hard work -- often in their free times.
