This is because we use mail readers which process text and not html. If
you want to make it easier for us to read your mail and reply to you
please consider adjusting your mailer to send text and not just html.

Your scanner is completed supported by sane. Is it installed?

  apt-get install sane.

Plug in the scanner and issue the commands

  sane-find-scanner

and

  scanimage -L

Post the outputs of the commands in your next mail here. (N.B. Don't
forget to post as text).
